Big hit for Paramount’s “Smile” with $36.5 million at the Box Office

Paramount Pictures ‘ Smile premiered last Thursday in Greece, while worldwide it reached more cinemas on Friday . Apparently, after the excellent promotion the film had all these months, people went to the theaters to watch it.

And that’s because, as Collider reports , the film over the weekend brought in $36.5 million for Paramount , a very strong amount for a horror film. In fact, $22 million of that was in America, while the remaining $14.5 million was in the rest of the world.

It also topped the box office in America over the weekend, passing Universal Pictures’ ” Bros ,” as well as ” Barbarian ” and Sony Pictures’ ” The Invitation .”

The “Smile” synopsis:

After a freak, traumatic accident with one of her patients, Dr. Rose Cotter (Saucy Bacon) begins to experience terrifying, unexplained events. With terror sweeping her life, Rose must face her troubled past to survive and escape the terrifying reality.

The protagonist of this nightmarish film is Sosie Bacon , who will be called to face the smiles of many, which will surely freeze the blood of the spectators, since it promises several jumpscares. The film was written and directed by Parker Finn, and in addition to Bacon, Jessie T. Usher, Kyle Gallner, Rob Morgan, Kal Penn, Caitlin Stasey and Judy Reyes also star .
