Almost Nobody Has Tried Netflix Games – New Report

99% of users do not play games on the service

A few months ago, Netflix added to its platform a new category related to videogames . The streaming service has been eyeing the gaming industry for a long time, and now subscribers have the ability to play various games from their device, at no extra charge.

However, according to data obtained by CNBC from app monitoring group Apptopia , almost none of Netflix’s subscribers play games. According to these figures 1 percent of subscribers play games on a daily basis. That is, just 1.7 million users per day, out of 221 million total Netflix subscribers worldwide.

According to Apptopia, the games currently on the platform have been downloaded approximately 23.3 million times since Netflix introduced the “Games” category, as of November 2021. Netflix debuted games with five games , but the collection has since expanded to include titles like Hextech Maymen, Into the Breach, Stranger Things, and more.

Let us remind you that other games will come to Netflix in the future, such as The Queen’s Gambit, which will of course be based on the popular series.

Netflix wants to double its slate to 50 total titles by the end of 2022, and has acquired three indie studios to help it achieve that goal.
