The Sandman: His return for season 2 is developing into a thriller

A deleted tweet may give fans of the Netflix series hope

Netflix’s The Sandman may not have been a huge success in terms of numbers, but it seems that even die-hard fans of Neil Gaiman’s comics loved it – after all, he oversaw production and had a hand in this first live-action effort.

Despite the will of fans and viewers for a sequel, Netflix still hasn’t chirped its usual announcement about its renewal for a 2nd season.

The cancellation rumors and the denial

In the last few days, there have been some unfounded rumors on social media that Netflix will cancel Sandman and its story will not be continued. The spread of fake news started with a fake Discussing Film clone account (Discussing Fill in this case)

People started asking creator and showrunner Neil Gaiman what was going on and he didn’t let it go. He has already fired his shots at Elon Musk’s decision to give any account the ability to put the “blue tick”, however paying a subscription.

“Just think about it. Now even spoof/scam sites will clickbait with fake news and be able to buy the blue tick. What fun it will be.

Somehow came the rebuttal that fans need not worry. However, a development a few hours later brought a twist to The Sandman season 2 thriller.

The deleted tweet

A few hours later @OneTakeNews spotted a tweet from the DC Comics account that The Sandman will indeed be returning for a 2nd season. However, the official announcement was not kept on air for long and was deleted, which states that it was done by mistake.

However with this error from DC itself who owns the Sandman rights, came the implicit assurance that there will be a season 2.

Now fans just have to wait for the official tweet from Netflix that will confirm DC’s “wrong” post.

The cast of “The Sandman” consists of:  Tom Sturridge  as “Morpheus”,  Gwendoline Christie  as Lucifer,  Charles Dance  as Roderick Burgess,  Boyd Holbrook  as Corinthian,  Mark Hamill  as Merv Pumpkinhead, Vivienne Acheampong as Lucienne, and Asim Chaudry and Sanjeev Bhaskar as Cain and Abel,  Patton Oswalt  as Matthew The Raven,  Stephen Fry  as Gilbert,  David Thewlis  as John Dee/Doctor Destiny,  Jenna Coleman as Johanna Constantine, Joely Richardson as Ethel Crips and Niamh Walsh as young Ethel Cripps, Razane Jammal as Lyta Hall, Donna Preston as Despair, Mason Alexander Park as Desire, Kirby Howell-Baptiste as Death, Kyo Ra as Rose Walker and Sandra James Young as Unity Kincaid.
