An Instagram feature is retiring on March 16
A few days after removing a tab
Instagram recently removed the shopping tab from its main screen, and it looks like Meta isn’t stopping there, as it’s pulling out other shopping features as well. Specifically, Instagram warned its users that Live Shopping will be retired on March 16 .

So after March 16, stores will not be able to tag products during the livestreams. The company explained that in this way it wants to focus on the basic features of the platform. Live Shopping came to Instagram in 2020 as many people were forced to shop online due to the quarantine.
Additionally, data in the US shows that social-based shopping will account for just 5% of e-commerce in the country by 2022, so there may not be as big an audience for this category as the tech giants had hoped.
