HUAWEI’s MateBook D15 was one of the successful laptops in sales in Greece and now its successor, the MateBook D16 , has all the ingredients to surpass it. Its FullView screen is slightly larger at 16 inches with a 16:10 ratio, while the body-to-screen ratio is 90%, offering more space for browsing. It’s designed for long hours of work as it’s flicker-free and has TUV Rheiland certification to filter out blue light to keep your eyes from tiring. The sRGB color palette is at 100%. Despite its size, it remains quite light with a weight of only 1.7 kg.
Inside, it features the all-new 12th generation Intel Core i7-12700H and Intel Iris X graphics, being able to handle a heavy load, even from rendering in programs like Photoshop or Premiere, while also being efficient at collecting code from processing multiple web pages , tables and slides.
Office work is aided by the full numeric keypad, which also features a hybrid search key using AI. The backlit keyboard is made of high-strength materials and HUAWEI says it doubles wear-resistant times. The distance of the keys is 1.5mm with a very soft reset.
The AI camera adjusts the viewing angle as you move so you’re always in the frame, while it also detects your eyes to automatically orient them as if you were looking into the eyes of your conversation partner. There is also the possibility of a virtual background during teleconferences. With 1080p resolution and 88-degree wide-angle shooting, you can even make a call with several people in the frame. The MateBook D16 also features four noise-cancelling microphones, allowing you to be heard perfectly from 360 degrees up to five meters away. Covers typing sounds and ringtones so you don’t disturb your colleagues.
The laptop’s WiFi is boosted by 56% in signal reception, always keeping your connection stable regardless of whether the router is far away or there are walls in the way.
On the ports we have one USB 2.0, one USB 3.2 Gen 1, one USB-C for charging and data transfer, one USB-C for all users, HDMI 2.0 and a 3.5mm audio jack.
Its battery now has a capacity of 60Wh that ensures nine hours of work, with 65W of charging, while the charger is included in the package.
An interesting HUAWEI technology is the Super Device, which allows multiple smart devices to function as one cohesive unit. With it, you can make the MateBook D16 the control center and connect mobile, tablet and other HUAWEI devices to it. So you can search for files from any device at your disposal and transfer them to and from the laptop. Needless to say, the wireless connection with HUAWEI peripherals, such as headphones, speakers, keyboards and mice, happens immediately once the peripherals are placed near the laptop.
