Conor McGregor , the former two-division champion of the UFC and one of the most popular figures in the world of mixed martial arts, will soon share his story in a new documentary series that will be shown through the frequency of Netflix . We are talking about the McGregor Forever series , which will premiere on May 17 and will consist of a total of four episodes .
These will cover McGregor’s initial rise, his struggles in and…out of the cage, his devastating leg injury and his difficult journey back.
It’s worth noting that McGregor himself is an executive producer for the series, wanting to give fans unprecedented access to his life and mindset as he faces various challenges and obstacles in his quest to regain his glory.
McGregor posted a teaser of the series on his social media accounts, saying: “You heard it here first. My brand new docu-series, McGregor Forever, is coming to Netflix on May 17th! The only place to hear my true story, which is just beginning!”.
Here is the post in question:
As you can see, the teaser shows McGregor in the hospital after breaking his leg in his fight with Dustin Poirier during UFC 264 in July 2021. The injury forced McGregor to be sidelined for over two years , with many doubting his future in the sport. In fact, he himself admits that he thought his career was over and that he was afraid of losing everything he had managed to acquire and for which he had worked. However, in the same teaser he also vows to never give up.
For the record, McGregor is currently in Las Vegas filming The Ultimate Fighter (TUF), the UFC reality show that pits two rival trainers against each other before they square off in the Octagon. McGregor will train against Michael Chandler, a former Bellator champion and top contender in the UFC’s lightweight division. The two are expected to fight later this year in what could be a title fight depending on the outcome of the upcoming fight between champion Charles Oliveira and Poirier.
