Australian military hit by ransomware
Alert to the Ministry of Defense
Hackers have managed to breach the communications platform used by Australian military personnel in a ransomware attack. Under Secretary of Defense Matt Thistlethwaite confirmed the incident, but stressed that no military systems had been breached so far.
I want to emphasize that this is not an attack or a breach in defense systems. At the moment, there is no evidence that the data available to this company for the defense was breached.

The Australian government has taken the incident very seriously and all military personnel have been notified to change their passwords. The Ministry of Defense is currently investigating the incident and in particular the contents of the breached data, as well as what personal personnel information has been leaked.
Technology experts believe that Australia has become a target for attacks due to a lack of skilled cyber security personnel. Recently, the country’s largest telecommunications provider and the largest insurance carrier have been hacked, exposing the data of millions of customers.
