As usual with Oscar-nominated songs, Rihanna could not be absent from the Oscars 2023 . Despite being pregnant, and her belly now more visible than at halftime of the Super Bowl , Rihanna managed to captivate everyone by performing the track ” Lift Me Up ” heard in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever .
The song in question is her first sample of new music after a six-year absence from the famous singer, for which she collaborated with Tems , the film’s composer Ludwig Göransson and director, Ryan Coogler, to write it.
With a relatively modest appearance and thanks to her inexhaustible talent, Rihanna reminded the audience that she can deliver a mesmerizing performance. And that’s exactly what she did, as she rocked the Dolby Theater and millions of viewers with her live performance.

This was also her first Oscar nomination in her career, but it was not enough to bag the golden statuette in the Best Song category as it went to the Indian blockbuster ‘RRR’ with the track ‘Naatu Naatu’ by MM Keeravaani .
It is worth noting that within a few hours of publication, her performance has gone viral on Twitter, counting over 1.5 million views .
Black Panther: Wakanda Forever received 6 Oscar nominations, leaving the 95th Academy Awards with a golden statuette in the Best Costume Design category.
