Amazon’s new horror movie

Amazon has released the official trailer from the movie My Best Friend’s Exorcism , which will play in September on Prime Video. It is a film based on Grady Hendrix’s 2nd novel described as “when the Beaches met The Exorcist”.

The film takes place in the late 80s and wants to tell you a touching story of high school friendship, but also of a demonic ceremony. Elsie Fisher (Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Eighth Grade) and Amiah Miller star in the film, directed by Damon Thomas (Penny Dreadful). Also starring Cathy Ang and Rachel Ogechi Kanu .

The synopsis of the film is as follows:

The year is 1988. High school sophomores Abby and Gretchen have been best friends since fourth grade. But after one night goes terribly wrong, Gretchen starts acting… different. She is moody. She is irritable. And strange occurrences happen whenever they are around.

Abby’s investigation leads her to some surprising discoveries – and until their story reaches its terrifying conclusion, Abby and Gretchen’s fate will be determined by a single question: Is their friendship strong enough to defeat the devil?

My Best Friend’s Exorcism premieres September 30 on Prime Video. Watch the trailer below.
