No more Yakuza games – SEGA confirms name change for good

Finally, SEGA came to confirm the speculations. Specifically, through a new statement to Kotaku , he emphasized that he will stop using the name Yakuza for the releases of the series in the West. On the contrary, the branding that will now be used will be Like a Dragon, since “it is closer to the Japanese name”, according to the company’s words.

Yakuza and officially over, then. The beloved franchise has a new name and it is: Like A Dragon.

At this point let us remind you that Like a Dragon 8 is expected to be released in 2024 for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and PC.
