The name Dieunerst Collin may not mean anything to you, but the chances are that at some point you have seen his famous GIF in some corner of the internet. About ten years ago, Collin was the kid standing outside a Popeyes fast-food store when a guy approached him on camera, mistaking him for Lil Terrio, one of Vine’s most famous stars. at that time.

The man asked Collin to say a signature line, and the reaction he got was an awkward look destined to go down in internet history. The video was posted by the man on Vine garnering millions of views and of course it was immediately turned into a GIF, which is still used today. The whole meme is known as “Popeyes kid” and his story now comes full circle!

More specifically, Collin now stands 185cm tall and weighs 150kg, playing American football as a forward at Lake Erie College’s Division II. In fact, with his school team, he managed to become champion in the state of East Orange in New Jersey, USA in 2021.

After his team’s big hit, a post of Collin re-doing the look that made him famous went viral on Twitter. Somehow, once social media users caught wind of Collin’s athletic success they started asking Popeyes to sponsor him!

Finally, as USA Today now reports, the story of the “Popeyes kid” came full circle, after Popeyes became his official athlete sponsor . Speaking to the medium, Collin stated:
