Glass Onion: The creator is upset about something that happened

And the film’s title is to blame for that

Rian Johnson , the creator of Knives Out , as well as Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery , is pissed about a certain thing and said it publicly in a new interview. The film about the iconic detective, Benoit Blanc, played by Daniel Craig recently arrived on Netflix and is doing well, climbing to the top of the charts.

However, one thing has completely pissed off Johnson and that has to do with the title of his new movie.

More specifically, Rian Johnson gave an interview to The Atlantic and stated that he got nervous with the title, as he did not want to have the subtitle “A Knives Out Mystery”.

I tried hard to make it stand alone. Honestly, I’m pissed off that we have “A Knives Out Mystery” in the title. I just wanted it to be called Glass Onion. I understand that and I wanted those who loved the first movie to know that this is the next in the series. For me, it’s like a new novel that I pull off the shelf every time.

It seems that the creator got nervous about the subtitle of Glass Onion since it is not exactly a sequel, since in addition to Daniel Craig who is the protagonist, he chose a completely new cast, a new location and a brand new story to tell.

The unlikely and brilliant cast includes: Daniel Craig as Benoit Blanc, Kathryn Hahn as Claire Debella a senatorial and gubernatorial candidate, Dave Bautista as YouTube star Duke Cody, Janelle Monae as Cassandra Brand, a tech entrepreneur , Jessica Henwick as Peg, Leslie Odom Jr. as Lionel Toussaint as Miles’ sidekick scientist, Kate Hudson as fashion designer Birdie Jay, and Madelyn Cline as Duke’s girlfriend named Whiskey. Also starring Ethan Hawke and Jada Pinkett Smith .

It is worth mentioning that Netflix has bought the rights to the franchise and in addition to the Glass Onion that you have already seen, you will have to wait for one more movie. The mega-deal was worth $450 million.

Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery plays exclusively through the Netflix “frequency”.
