Court’s resounding NO to Elon Musk’s “absurd demands” from Twitter
Another lost battle for the tycoon
Judge Kathaleen McCormick, after hearing from lawyers for Elon Musk and Twitter, decided to say a significant “no” to Musk ‘s ” unreasonably broad ” demand to hand over ” every day’s data for three years that Twitter has stored.” for each of the approximately 200 million daily user accounts ”. So he shot down his attempt to prove that Twitter’s bot statistics are false.
Twitter is having a hard time quantifying the weight of this requirement because no one with a sane mind has ever attempted such an endeavor. Needless to say, Twitter has shown that such a request is impossible.
The judge decided, however, to compel Twitter to hand over the data of 9,000 accounts from the fourth quarter of 2021, while the company must provide Musk’s team with information on how it selected these 9,000 accounts. It should also hand over “ an additional small piece of data from the audit database – documents relating to the key points that Musk’s team has identified, regardless of whether those documents are contained in day user accounts ”.
