Screen with 540Hz from Asus (PICTURES+VIDEO)

Asus takes the refresh rate on its monitors a step further than Alienware , announcing a gaming monitor with 540Hz ! The Asus ROG Swift Pro PG248QP will hit store shelves in the second quarter of the year.

It is a 24.1 inch screen, 1080p resolution, TN panel and of course G-Sync. It has an integrated ESS Quad DAC for zero latency in the sound and covers over 90% of the DCI-P3 color palette. It has two HDMI 2.0 which are not compatible with the variable refresh rate, however to achieve the high refresh rate you will have it connected to the DP 1.4 port.

An interesting feature is the hinged monitor stand which adjusts to fit in narrower desks.

It is worth noting that the response difference between 360Hz and 500Hz is only one millisecond or more precisely 0.78 milliseconds, while 500Hz can only be achieved with powerful graphics cards and CPUs.

The price of the screen will be around $899.
