Matt Damon comments on the ‘battle’ between Oppenheimer and Barbie on social media
As the two films will be released on the same day in US cinemas
An informal “battle” between two summer blockbusters has been raging on social media for months now as both Christopher Nolan’s ” Oppenheimer ” and Greta Gerwig’s ” Barbie ” will hit theaters on the same day. USA, i.e. on July 21 .
The drama of the case becomes more intense as Chris Nolan has been working with Warner Bros. for years. (producer of “Barbie”) and for the sake of his new film, he switched to Universal Pictures, which will pit the famous director against his old production studio.

Matt Damon co-starring in ” Oppenheimer ” alongside Cillian Murphy and Robert Downey Jr. he was asked to comment on this controversy only that he didn’t even know it existed! In particular, the actor speaking to Vanity Fair said: ” This is the first time I’ve heard it honestly. I haven’t paid attention to all this .”
Not in the mood to engage in “Barbie vs Oppenheimer” he continued his statement with a fairly sober response to those taking part in this confrontation saying: “People are allowed to see two movies in one weekend and Oppenheimer is one of them! . ”
For the record, the film Oppenheimer will be released in Greek theaters much later on August 24th , while the film Barbie on July 20th , and therefore such a battle will not take place in our theaters, as in those of America.
