ASUS ROG Phone 5 is the ultimate performance beast

ASUS ROG Phone 5 is now official, again giving huge weight to performance and gaming. Initially we have internally a Snapdragon 888 with 8/12 / 16GB RAM and 128 / 256GB storage. X Mode software overclocks the CPU, increases the refresh rate and increases the touch input rate. In the graphs that he published, it has a bigger 3d graphic rendering and CPU workload than the Xiaomi Mi 11 and Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra. The internal layout is something we are not used to in phones as we have the CPU in the center, and both batteries frame it left and right. Temperatures are lower than the competition with more fps and fewer fluctuations

The screen is a custom 6.78-inch AMOLED from Samsung 1080+ resolution with 144Hz refresh rate with 1ms response time, 300Hz touch-sampling rate, 24.3ms touch latency – which is the lowest in the world – and Always-on HDR. It has 111% coverage of the DCI-P3 color palette and 151% of the sRGB. The screen is protected by Gorilla Glass Victus and behind Gorilla Glass 3.

ASUS paid great attention to sound and took first place in DxOMARK audio with a score of 79, installing symmetrical front stereo speakers of the same size 12x16mm and 3.5mm jack with Pro Quad DAC. There are 4 microphones for in-game communication and in-game haptic feedback based on the sound effects of the games.

The 6,000mAh battery is divided into two 3,000mAh cells, left and right of the main chipset. Charging is done with 65W which promises 0-100 in 51 minutes, while offering lower temperatures while you play. There is an extra charging port on the side of the device so that the cable does not bother you during gaming, however the two ports can not be used for charging at the same time. The phone also has a battery care feature, through which you can set a charging limit. For example, if you see that 6,000mAh is more than enough to give you a day of use, you can set the charge to stop at 90% and not reach 100%, thus extending the life of the battery. Finally, compared to the Mi 11 and Galaxy S21,

It has some modes such as Scout mode that offers color reversal for easier targeting, while it also has Esports mode which activates Do Not Disturb, prevents accidental pressing, special features are disabled (anti-cheating) and activates bypass charging.

The compatible accessories include ROG Kunai gamepad, ROG Clip, Aeroactive cooler 5, Lighting Armor Case, ROG Cetra II, ROG Strix GO BT II.

Cameras are not an area where Asus stood and they are the same as the previous generation. So we have a Sony IMX 686 64MP and f / 1.8, an ultra-wide 13MP without autofocus and a 5MP macro. The selfie is 24MP.

On the back of the phone we have Aura RGB lighting, with the ROG logo in two color combinations.

There are two more versions, the ROG Phone 5 Pro which comes with 16GB RAM and 512GB storage and the top ROG Phone 5 Ultimate which is the only phone in the world with 18GB RAM. The latter two also have a different rear screen called ROG Vision, which accepts the text you have entered.

ASUS ROG Phone 5 will be available in March, with prices € 799 for 8GB / 128GB, € 899 for 12GB / 256GB and € 999 for 16GB / 256GB. The ROG Phone 5 Pro will be available in April for € 1,199, while the ROG Phone 5 Ultimate will be available in May in very limited parts worldwide for € 1,299.
