Disney has removed Avatar from Disney Plus

Because it will play again in some cinemas

In a rather strange move, Disney made a few hours ago, as it removed James Cameron ‘s Avatar from Disney Plus , in our country, but also worldwide. The reason? The film is set to play again in select theaters to build hype for Avatar: The Way of Water , which hits theaters in December.

This means that for a few hours now, you can’t watch the original film on the subscription service from the comfort of your couch, since it will be back in theaters on September 23rd. However, we do not know if it will be re-released in Greek theaters.

At the moment, it is not known when the first Avatar will be available again on the service, so if you want to remember everything that happened in the 2009 film, before watching the sequel, you should visit the theaters if it premieres in our parts of course.

The synopsis of Avatar: Way of the Water is as follows:

Avatar: The Way of Water takes place more than 10 years after the events of the first film and begins to tell the story of the Sully family (Jake, Neytiri and their children), the suffering that follows them, the extremes they will reach for to stay safe, the battles they will fight to stay alive and the tragedies they will endure.

The sequel stars: Zoe Saldana, Sam Worthington, Sigourney Weaver, Stephen Lang, Cliff Curtis, Joel David Moore, CCH Pounder, Edie Falco, Jemaine Clement, Giovanni Ribisi and Kate Winslet.

Avatar: The Way of Water will be released on December 15 in Greek cinemas.
