iPhone 14 Pro: Severe shortages expected at Christmas
Because of China
A new report from renowned Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo points to serious shortages that Apple will face in the weeks leading up to the Christmas holiday season. According to Kuo, Apple is expected to ship 70-75 million iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max units to store shelves, 20 million fewer devices than originally expected.
The reason seems to be China’s strict COVID measures, which have resulted in serious unrest inside the country and especially in the factories where iPhones are produced. Two other iPhone makers, Pegatron and Luxshare ICT, will take about 10% of orders, helping with shortages, but that won’t happen before the end of December.
The iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max are currently sold out at Apple Stores in the US, with the first orders expected to ship on December 29. In Greece there are also shortages, with many stores accepting orders with a delivery time of more than a month.
