The first AI lawyer is now a reality
Better Call SAUL
The progress of artificial intelligence (AI) has reached such a level that it is starting to creep into everyday life as well as into more serious issues. One of them is AI-lawyers who actually exist as we speak – even though we have just entered 2023 – and are even preparing for their first case.
A legal services startup, DoNotPay , has announced that it has developed the ” world’s first robot lawyer, ” claiming that it will let you fight corporations, beat red tape and sue anyone you want. DoNotPay’s AI will help two defendants on a speeding summons.
It is said that its legal AI assistants will communicate with defendants, via headset, to inform them of what to say and when in court. In fact, one case will be heard via Zoom and the other in a regular courtroom.

The said legal advice company offers a bunch of different services for all kinds of legal matters, however when registering for this service, DoNotPay states that ” It is not a law firm and it is not licensed to practice law “.
Whether this is the first step in the emergence of artificial intelligence in courtrooms remains to be seen. It is not excluded that in the future AI will help in the processing of court cases and also in the defense of the accused, if things develop well and do not go…Skynet’s way.
