Apple Watch: The power saving mode will also come to the old models

But not in everything

A few hours ago, Apple announced the new generation Watch Series 8 , which bring to the fore several new features. One of them, which the community has been asking for for a long time, is the low power mode .

When enabled, this feature disables various extra features of the smartwatch, while retaining several basic features. The result is that the battery increases significantly , with Apple claiming for accuracy that the low power mode can even double it!

The good news is that owners of older Apple smartwatches will also be able to increase the battery life of their device by using the low power mode . The feature will initially debut with watchOS 9 for the Apple Watch Series 8 and will come to other models in the near future, with the only requirement being Series 4 or newer.

In case you want to know more, low power mode will turn off the always-on screen, auto-start workout, heart health alerts, and other features, while keeping things like step tracking and tracking enabled fall. Of course, the mode is expected to be less effective on the Series 4 and SE, which for example do not have an always-on screen.

Be that as it may, this is certainly a welcome addition, since now those who want their watch to have a battery for more hours, will not have to have as their only option the power reserve mode, which only shows the time after pressing the side button.
