Huawei has found a way to launch 5G phones

Bypassing US sanctions

The US sanctions on Huawei prohibit it from using its own chipsets or 5G chipsets from Qualcomm and thus the Chinese company has been limited to using 4G chipsets from Qualcomm. But now it seems it has found a way around the ban and offers its first 5G phone in a long time.

Wiko entered the equation, a company of French origin that was active only in Europe. Now Wiko has decided to enter the Chinese market with the Wiko 5G smartphone , which is essentially a Huawei Nova 9 SE but with 5G support.

Wiko 5G comes with Snapdragon 695 chip from Qualcomm with 5G support. It has a 6.78-inch LCD screen with FullHD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate, 8GB of RAM, 128/256GB of storage space and a 4,000mAh battery that charges with 66W.

On the back, it has Samsung’s HM2 sensor at 108MP, an 8MP ultra-wide, a 2MP macro and a 2MP depth sensor. The selfie is 16MP. In software we have Huawei’s HarmonyOS.

As for its price, it ranges from €269 to €296 depending on the version. It is already available in China but it is not known if it will be released in other markets.
