TikTok: A must feature is coming for those who love series and movies
ByteDance and IMDb team up to integrate a new feature
A feature that film- and screen-hungry TikTok users will love is coming to the popular social media platform. In collaboration with the IMDb platform , which is the largest and most popular database for movies and series, they bring a feature that thanks to it you will be able to tag (commonly tag) direct links for a movie or series on IMDb.
This feature gives the option of adding a link (like the Instagram Stories link sticker) before publishing a video – you will find it in Movie and TV – and thus, you will be able to search for the favorite series/film that you want to recommend to your followers.
Clicking this link will redirect the user to the corresponding official page of ” The Godfather” for example, to see detailed and official information, as well as a collection of related videos from TikTok.
TikTok creators will even be able to save each title in the Favorites tab of their profile. This feature will make the suggestion of movies and series through TikTok more interactive, as content creators have so far been limited in how they present them, while TikTok has been losing engagement by seeing users jump elsewhere to find information about it that they want. Now they’ll be able to do it without…leaving TikTok.

This feature will naturally create a win-win cycle, as companies and production studios will be able to promote their films and series much more effectively. Giants like Netflix , Disney Plus , HBO , A24 and Warner Bros. are heavily using TikTok to promote their new productions to the public.
For now, it has been gradually made available to users in the USA and Great Britain, while it is possible that other countries will follow in the future, including Greece.
