In case you don’t know what Cyberpunk: Edgerunners is, it’s an anime spin-off of CD Projekt’s game from the well-known and talented studio Trigger. It’s the same team responsible for hugely popular anime like Little Witch Academia and Kill la Kill, which even assembled an all-star cast. Specifically, the director of Edgerunners is Hiroyuki Imaishi, known for his participation in Gurren Lagann, Neon Genesis Evangelion and Promare, the script was written by Masahiko Otsuka and Yoshiki Usa from Star Wars: Visions and Little Witch Academia respectively, while the talented composer Akira Yamaoka of the Silent Hill games is responsible for the background music.
The series’ official description highlights:
Cyberpunk: Edgerunners tells a 10-episode standalone story about a street kid trying to survive in a futuristic city where everyone is obsessed with technology and body modifications. With everything to lose, he chooses to stay alive by becoming an edgerunner — that is, an illegal mercenary also known as a cyberpunk.
