And Twitter got TikTok and is adding vertical videos
Changes are coming to social media
As it announced through its official blog , Twitter wants to make it easier to find videos, since they now dominate the online experience for most users. For this reason, the social network has prepared two important changes.
The first of these is the transition to a more ‘immersive’ full-screen video player. Yes, you got it right. Twitter practically got TikTok too, adding the famous vertical videos that are wildly popular lately. In fact, the user experience will be similar, since the user will be able to swipe up to go to the next video, scrolling endlessly for more content.
It is worth noting that the user interface will be similar to TikTok and Instagram’s Reels, so at the bottom there will be direct access to comments, while users will be able to like or retweet from there. To begin with, the changes will be available for the iOS version of Twitter’s mobile application, however, within the next few weeks, Android users can expect something similar.
The second change to the platform wants to increase the videos that Twitter users see. Thus, its Explore tab will now also include recommended videos, in addition to trends, as has been the case until now.
