On the eve of the premiere of Thor: Love & Thunder in Greek cinemas, Marvel Studios has released the official soundtrack of the film, edited by Oscar winner Michael Giacchino, together with Nami Melumad.
Giacchino is a familiar figure in the MCU’s soundtracks, having given his pen to Tom Holland’s Spider – Man trilogy ( Spider-Man: Homecoming, Spider-Man: Far From Home, Spider-Man: No Way Home ), as well as Doctor Who Strange (2016), while he has provided the soundtrack to films such as Rogue One: A Star Wars Story and “Up !”.
The melodies this time, in addition to being orchestral, have several metal and guitar influences, which tie in with the style of the film and the music of ” Sweet Child of Mine ” by Guns N Roses , which was chosen to dress the trailers – after all, we will see a “thor metals”.
The official synopsis for Thor: Love and Thunder is as follows:
The film finds Thor on a journey like no other before: the search for his inner peace, but his retreat is interrupted by a galactic assassin, Gorr the God Butcher, who calls for the extermination of all gods. To counter the threat, Thor enlists King Valkyrie, Korg, and his ex, Jane Foster, who – to Thor’s surprise – inexplicably wields his magical hammer, Mjolnir, as the Mighty Thor. Together they will embark on a harrowing cosmic adventure to uncover the mystery behind the God Butcher’s thirst for revenge and stop him before it’s too late.
The cast includes Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, Tessa Thompson and Jaimie Alexander returning as Thor, Jane Foster (the new Mighty Thor), Valkyrie and Lady Sif respectively. Russell Crowe will play Jupiter , Christian Bale will play the villain “Gorr the Butcher”, while Chris Pratt, Karen Gillan , Dave Bautista and Pom Klementieff will play Star-Lord, Nebula, Drax and Mantis, along with Groot ( Vin Diesel ) and Rocket Racoon ( Bradley Cooper ), in the new lineup of Guardians of the Galaxy. In the “easter eggs” of the cast Matt Damon returns as Fake Loki, along with Sam Neill as Fake Odin and Melissa McCarthy as Fake Hela.
Thor: Love and Thunder will premiere on July 7, 2022 in Greek cinemas.
