Thor: Love and Thunder managed to surpass Thor: Ragnarok at the box office

Despite being the 2nd worst rated Thor movie

A month after its theatrical release, Thor: Love & Thunder isn’t proving to be the smash hit Marvel Studios was hoping for, becoming the worst-rated Thor movie ever .

Nevertheless, it managed to displace its predecessor and most successful Thor film of all in every respect. According to the latest box office numbers, Thor: Love and Thunder managed to surpass Thor: Ragnarok at the US box office as it now counts $316 million in receipts against $315 million.

However, where it hasn’t surpassed “Ragnarok” yet is in total revenue. “Love & Thunder” is just over $700 million in total at the box office, while Ragnarok pulled in about $853.9 million. Based on its run thus far, it seems extremely difficult to top the final crop, especially as it prepares to be released on Disney+.

Chris Hemsworth’s 4th solo film carries one of the most expensive budgets in the history  of Marvel films, reaching $250 million.
