Westworld: Luke Hemsworth breaks his silence on the sudden stop of the series

Disappointment is also widespread among the protagonists of the HBO series

It’s been about a week since HBO announced the sudden discontinuation of Westworld, one of its award-winning and beloved series. Unfortunately the numbers and production costs led to an early finale in Season 4 , which had wrapped in August, when it was expected to continue for its 5th and final season.

One of the stars of Westworld, Luke Hemsworth broke his silence about the cancellation of the series. Speaking to Entertainment Tonight he stated how disappointed he is by this development, sharing the feelings of the fans:

You hope this goes on forever, but everyone has their reasons. I’m grateful to have been a part of the show and this journey has been a big part of my life, but yes, it was disappointing.

Of course, he revealed that for him, HBO’s announcement was a moment that made matters worse as he learned the news on his 42nd birthday: ” I was like, ‘No, f***! ‘” Hemsworth said. He also hinted a little at what Season 5 would show, saying:

I think the original idea was to come full circle and go back to the themes of loops, what it’s like to be human and robots to be stuck in that direction. Unfortunately we got cut, but that’s the nature of the world. You can’t be depressed by it. You move forward and new doors open.

Despite the strong will of creators Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy , HBO’s decision was final to stop, following Westworld’s continued decline in season 4 ratings. The main cast of the series included: Evan Rachel Wood, Aaron Paul, Jeffrey Wright, Thandiwe Newton, Ed Harris  and  Tessa Thomspon.

Of course, fans have long been petitioning for its return, in the hope that some other streaming service will take over the revival for a proper “goodbye” with the 5th season of Westworld.
