The Mac Pro returns with an unimaginable price but also terrible specs
Equipped with Apple’s powerful M2 Ultra chip
As part of WWDC 2023 , Apple announced the return of the Mac Pro with built-in Apple Silicon, namely the all-new and powerful M2 Ultra chip . Outwardly, its chassis and box look identical to the last 2019 model that wore a chip from Intel.
The new Mac Pro 2023 comes equipped with the M2 Ultra which consists of a 24-core CPU , a GPU with up to 76 cores , a 32-core Neural Engine processor and up to 192GB of RAM memory to make it the ultimate workstation for professionals. It also includes two HDMI ports, x8 Thunderbolt 4 ports, x2 USB-C ports, x2 USB-A ports, SD card port, 10GB Ethernet, Bluetooth 5.3, WiFi 6E, and x6 PCI slots for further expansion. In general, it lacks nothing if you are a professional videographer, content creator or editor.
According to Apple it’s three times faster than the previous 2019 Mac Pro with Intel and 7 times faster than the basic, entry-level model Mac Pro with Intel. But the highlight of the new Mac Pro is its price, which seems unimaginable, as the simplest and most basic model starts at $6999 !
From today, those interested can order it, at the same time as the new Mac Studio, with its availability starting on Tuesday, June 13.
