Netflix: User Profile Transfer Has Arrived – What Does It Mean?

Everything you need to know

Netflix just rolled out a brand new feature on my platform that allows users to transfer their profile if, for example, they’re using someone else’s account.

If a user has a profile on their brother’s account, they will be able to take that profile keeping their history, list and saved games and create their own account, starting their own subscription from scratch.

Everything you need to know according to Netflix:

Some are moving. Families are growing. Relationships end. Despite life’s changes, your Netflix experience should stay the same. Today, we’re introducing the Profile Transfer feature, which allows people using your account to transfer a profile, keeping their personalized recommendations, watch history, list, saved games, and other settings, by starting their own subscription.

This new, much-anticipated feature will be available starting today to members worldwide. You will be notified by email once the Profile Transfer is available in your account.

To transfer a profile, go to the “Transfer Profile” option that appears when you hover over your profile icon in the home page drop-down menu. Then just follow the instructions.

You can always disable Profile Transfer at any time from your account settings.

The company appears to be already making several moves to bolster its subscribers following its recent financial results, which showed a slowdown in revenue. To bring more subscribers to the platform, Netflix recently revealed that it will also make available a special package, cheaper, but with ads .
