Netflix Has Launched The Code Hunt – How Much Will Each Extra Member Cost?
Expanding to new countries and Europe
Netflix seems to be intransigent in its decision and not listening to the complaints of millions of people about the sharing of codes.
Now she’s taking another step forward in cracking down on the “jackass” and cashing in on a tactic she once publicly encouraged, acknowledged, and if nothing else contributed to her massive success.
The most popular streaming service in the world announced, through its official page, that it is expanding the measure to four new countries: Canada, New Zealand, Portugal and Spain . This gives us a first taste of how much each extra member will cost in euros .
As Netflix states, you will now be able to ” buy an extra member ” on your main account with prices set at €3.99/month for Portugal and €5.99 for Spain . It remains to be seen how much this measure will cost for each extra bill in Greece as well .
In an attempt to make it more clear to its subscribers what this is all about and to ease the irritation, it states that ” We know there has been a lot of confusion about Netflix sharing. One Netflix account is for one household ,” while a little further down it says that the purpose is ” to give you more control over your account “.
and yes, you can still watch Netflix while travelling! https://t.co/keMqO2MJ65— Netflix (@netflix)
The purchase of extra members in the “household” of each Netflix account will be done only in the Standard and Premium packages, where in the first one it will be allowed to add one extra member and in the second even two extra members . The owner of the account will set a primary location as their “household”, which will dictate that all other profiles using it must be in the same location as the owner.
A Netflix spokesperson gave a clearer picture of how it will work, speaking to THR.

Each member of the “household”/account will be able to use their Netflix while traveling without using a special confirmation code .
Netflix will determine who is in the household and who is not , based on whether a device has joined the “home location” Wi-Fi at least once within a month .
If Netflix detects that they are outside the household then they will be notified that they must either create new separate accounts or have the owner of the account add them as extra members, with the corresponding fee . Therefore, what had been leaked to be implemented was confirmed – beyond the confirmation codes.
With this diagram, Netflix will determine from now on how the accounts are divided:

What is certain is that this series is not over and there will be further confusion and irritation as long as this measure is available in other countries.
