RUMOR: The new Tomb Raider will have an older Lara and multiple Tomb Raiders
First releases leaked

A new rumor has been making the rounds on the internet for the last few hours regarding the next chapter of the Tomb Raider series , which we officially know is under development at Crystal Dynamics , making use of the Unreal Engine 5 graphics engine.
In particular, former IGN editor-in-chief Colin Moriarty’s Sacred Symbols podcast managed to obtain a description of the script, which is being used by the development team to cast the actors who will be hired to lend their voices to the game’s characters.
In summary, the new Tomb Raider rumors state:
- The new Tomb Raider game is codenamed ‘Project Jawbreaker’.
- The new Tomb Raider is described as an action adventure that will take place in the present day. However, there is a mysterious threat that can destroy the world.
- The team is looking for an actress with an authentic British accent and around 35 years old to voice Lara.
- The team has in mind for the casting an actress who will remind Emily Blunt or Rosamund Pike.
- Lara’s role will involve romantic moments with another unknown female character.
- In the new Tomb Raider, Lara Croft will now be experienced and at the peak of her abilities.
- In the new Tomb Raider, Lara Croft will have left behind her past and family problems, enjoying a life full of adventure.
- Her adventures have become widely known, inspiring a new generation of Tomb Raiders.
- The leaked script describes something like a team from Tomb Raiders, hinting that the game will be multiplayer or co-op, with characters like Devendra and Tanvi alongside Lara.
Regarding the latter aspect of the game, the scenario description specifically states:
As the years passed, Lara felt lonely at the “top”. The beginning of this new chapter presents Lara with a quintessentially grown-up problem: she’s dealing with something so big she can’t handle it alone.
In this new adventure, Lara will face a challenge that she can only overcome with a team by her side. Cooperation is foreign to her, since she has always managed on her own, so in this situation she is out of her depth.
At this point let us remind you that the franchise is no longer in the hands of Square Enix, since the acquisition of the IP and the development team by Embracer was announced at the beginning of the year . Finally, it’s worth noting that none of the above has been officially confirmed, so take any information with a grain of salt.
