Candid Stories: Instagram introduces “real” selfies
Following BeReal and TikTok
Meta announced the arrival of “ Candid Stories ” on Instagram, copying the BeReal app and following TikTok’s recipe. With Candid Stories, the user is prompted once a day to share a photo of what they are doing at the time of the notification, with the rear and selfie cameras activated. By sharing a “candid moment” of his daily life, he will be allowed to see the rest of his friends’ Candid Stories.
The purpose of the feature is a more authentic experience on Instagram, without staged photos, curated environment or edited files. A real moment of the day from real users, whatever they are doing and wherever they are at that moment. Candid Stories launches today in South Africa and will soon roll out to the rest of the world.

In addition, Instagram introduces the “ Notes ” feature with which you can complete a status update on your profile in messages, with up to 60 characters.

It also introduces “ Group Profiles ”, allowing a group of friends to create shared Instagram profiles with multiple users.
