Resident Evil Village: Capcom will “shorten” Lady Dimitrescu

For a very specific reason

Those of you who have dealt with Resident Evil Village will surely remember how iconic the presence of Lady Dimitrescu was . The “villain” of the eighth chapter of the Capcom franchise, in addition to being very strong, in relation to Ethan Winters (protagonist of the game), was also quite high.

This, it seems, will change with the arrival of the Winter’s Expansion , which is expected to be released in October. Specifically, Lady Dimitrescu will be a playable character in the new Mercenaries mode and Capcom made the decision to “shorten” the character so that the player can handle her better.

As pointed out by the Japanese company, it had to do some “tricks” so that the character could be played more comfortably and one of them was to tease her height.

Kento Kinoshita , who is the game director on Winter’s Expansion, told Polygon :

Lady Dimitrescu’s height brought many challenges during development, but in the end we were able to implement her with a gigantic stature and she was taller than any other character in the game. For The Mercenaries, it’s essential that the player can easily control their character, and to do that, we adjusted her height a bit.

Now, her height will be a little under 2.7 meters. At this height, the player will barely be able to avoid ceilings (and not crawl).

Let us remind you somewhere here that each character will have unique abilities in The Mercenaries Mode. For example, “Lady D” will be able to throw furniture at enemies.

Resident Evil Village and other games in the series are coming to Nintendo Switch

The Gold Edition of Resident Evil Village (priced at €49.99) will be released on October 28th. In addition to the base game, it will also include the expansion pack. Anyone who pre-orders the new version will also receive an extra skin for Rosemary.
