The BBC is preparing a documentary dedicated to Mark Zuckerberg
For Facebook’s 20th anniversary
The well-known social networking platform Facebook , which without exaggeration has changed society as a whole in its own way, but also the lives of millions of people, is about to close its 20th anniversary soon, after it was founded in February 2004.
Therefore, on the occasion of the upcoming big anniversary, the famous British television network BBC announced that it is preparing a documentary series , which will be dedicated to Mark Zuckerberg and the empire he created. The show will consist of three episodes in total and aims to be the “ultimate record” of events.
What does this mean; Unlike The Social Network, David Fincher’s Oscar-winning film that premiered in 2010, the BBC show will not have dramatized events. Instead, the network is promising access to key actors, insider accounts, personal diaries and other rare material. For the production, the network is collaborating with Mindhouse, which in addition to presenting the events related to the creation of Facebook will also examine its impact on society and people’s behavior.
The documentary series is currently codenamed ‘Zuckerberg’, with its premiere date still unknown.
It is worth noting that the history of Facebook is now quite well known. Zuckerberg originally designed it to connect Harvard students, and the whole affair was complicated by a lawsuit from his former friends, the Winklevoss brothers, who sent him to court claiming that he stole their idea. It remains to be seen, then, whether the BBC production will shed new light, changing our understanding of everything that happened.
