Twitter increases character limit to 10,000
For subscribers only
Since February the Twitter character limit for Blue subscribers has been increased from a meager 280 character limit to a satisfying 4,000 character limit. Now, the company increases it again to 10,000 characters! In fact, it now supports bold and italics in the text format, so that users can highlight the parts they want when talking about such a long text.
In addition, Twitter renamed “Super Follows” to “ Subscriptions ”, allowing Blue subscribers to charge followers $3, $5 or $10 per month for exclusive content. Twitter even promised that it will not take any percentage of its profits for the next 12 months.
Finally, Twitter now allows Blue subscribers to post long videos.
It is worth mentioning that Super Follows were not particularly successful and it remains to be seen if Subscriptions will now have better luck.
