First victory for Elon Musk in the war with Twitter

Former executive must hand over evidence

In the legal battle between Elon Musk and Twitter, the Tesla strongman has achieved his first victory. Moving against 22 Twitter employees, Judge Kathaleen McCormick of the Delaware Court of Chancery decided to grant his request to disclose information from a single, but very important person on the list. Twitter’s former head of product, Kavyon Beykpour.

With the Oct. 17 trial approaching, Musk’s lawyers are trying to gather as much evidence as they can to prove that Twitter committed fraud by falsifying the number of bots on the platform. Thus, they seek information from Twitter employees, specifically mid- and low-level employees.

Musk’s legal team accuses Twitter of obstructing the effort to confirm the true number of bots versus real users, with Twitter claiming it is less than 5% of total accounts.

Note that Beykpour was fired on May 12 by Twitter CEO Parag Agrawal himself and replaced by Bruce Falck. Beykpour had stated at the time that ” Parag asked me to leave after he informed me that he wanted to lead the team in a different direction “.

We look forward to reviewing Beykpour’s communications and will continue to seek information and witnesses until the full truth is revealed. – Alex Spiro, member of the Elon Musk legal team
