HBO is gearing up for the season 3 premiere of Pennyworth , which in ^case you didn’t know, now has a new name and “listens” to: Pennyworth: The Origin of Batman’s Butler .

In particular, the name of the series has now been changed, so that it always reminds you that it is an origin story in the Batman universe. The official trailer tells us that the best comes with peace and love, but also with “mind control”, while also reminding us to tune in on October 6 for the premiere.

The 3rd season of the psychological thriller begins after a time-jump of 5 years. The civil war is over and a cultural revolution has changed the world, ushering in a new era for super heroes and super villains alike.

The official synopsis reads:

The series Pennyworth: The Origin of Batman’s Butler follows the life of Alfred Pennyworth (Jack Bannon), a former SAS soldier, who sets up a security company in 1960’s London and goes to work with young billionaire Thomas Wayne (Ben Aldridge). and his wife Martha (Emma Paetz), before becoming Bruce Wayne’s parents.

The entire plot, inspired by the respective DC characters created by Bob Kane and Bill Finger, focuses on the past of ‘Alfred Pennyworth’, when he was still a young SAS soldier, while he decided to create a security company by working with billionaire ‘Thomas Wayne’ (Ben Aldridge) before he became ‘Bruce’s’ father.

For the needs of this television venture, two contributors of Gotham were recruited, the external producer and screenwriter Bruno Heller (The Mentalist, Rome) and the director Danny Cannon (CSI).
