Google Pixel 7 Pro: These are the new, flagship camera features
Google gives…change
Google announced the new Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro and while there are no significant changes in the camera hardware, the power of the new Tensor G2 chip allows the devices to bring impressive AI software features. One of the most interesting things he announced is Cinematic Blur . Practically, it is a portrait mode in the video, which allows you to film with a blurred background, as if you were using a professional camera.
Another very useful feature is Photo Unblur , with which you can deblur really blurry photos. The result is impressive especially for older photos taken with another phone. If you transfer them to the Pixel 7, AI will breathe new life into that photo you always liked but were unlucky to click.
The Super Res Zoom function doubles the optical resolution at each zoom range, removing noise, reconstructing with AI the “mosaic” of pixels and increasing sharpness. The result is a 12.5MP photo at 2x zoom on the Pixel 7 and 10x on the Pixel 7 Pro. Basically, Google wants to offer really good zoom photo quality, whatever that is.
Also, Zoom Stabilization comes to upscale zoom photos to get the best stabilization, while supporting 10-bit HDR recording.
The Pixel 7 Pro also features the new Macro Focus which uses the phone’s ultra-wide camera – which supports auto-focus – for precise, detailed HDR+ photos from very close distances up to 3cm.
Finally, for the visually impaired, there is Guided Frame which allows them to capture selfies by receiving voice instructions from the AI on how to move their phone to be in the center of the shot.
