Google Maps: Incognito Mode is here for your … night walks

It has been four months since Google announced the new Incognito mode for the Maps app and after beta testing, it’s time to make it available to all users. It is currently being made available to Android users, while iOS support is ” coming soon “.

With Incognito mode you can navigate to the destinations you want without saving them to your Google Account. Maps will therefore not store your search history, send you notifications of these destinations, will not display their destinations or search in your history or the location you share with, and will not use the destination to configure your your personal data on Maps.

However, note that Incognito mode will not affect how your business is used or stored by Internet providers, third party applications, voice search and other Google services.

To enable Incognito mode open the Google Maps app, select your profile photo and select “Turn on Incognito mode”.
