The Idol: The new HBO series with The Weeknd “sunk” on Rotten Tomatoes
Has a very low “Tomatometer”
The Idol is the brand new HBO series from Sam Levinson of Euphoria , which is set to play very soon on the US network. However, the show had its world premiere at Cannes and the first reviews are out, and they’re definitely not what Levinson and The Weeknd were expecting .
So The Idol so far has only 9% of all reviews (about 11 total) on the “Average Tomatometer” . However, maybe the rating will go up a lot when more people watch it. However, it seems Levinson’s new creation hasn’t had the same success as other HBO shows.

Levinson’s new creation stars Abel Tesfaye or The Weeknd and Lily Rose Depp . In fact, HBO itself says the series is sick: ” The Idol comes from the sick and twisted minds of Abel and Sam Levinson. “

The plot of the series centers on Rose Depp’s rising pop star on the path of a self-improvement guru (Abel “The Weeknd” Tesfaye), where dangerous and enticing occult scenarios begin to happen to her.
The series also stars: Debby Ryan, Troye Sivan, Steve Zissis, Melanie Liburd, Tunde Adebimpe, Elizabeth Berkley Lauren, Nico Hiraga, Anne Heche, Rachel Sennot, Hari Nef and Jennie, founder of the group, Blackpink.
The Idol will premiere on Max on June 4.
