Elon Musk at his limit: I’m drowning in work

He took on too much

During a business conference as part of the G20 summit, Elon Musk was asked about his recent acquisition of Twitter and his leadership of Tesla. The tycoon replied:

I’m overworked, that’s for sure. I work to the max, from morning to night, seven days a week.

Musk serves as CEO of both companies, while also managing SpaceX, Neuralink and the Boring Company.

Tesla investors worry that the micromanagement of Musk, who is personally involved in decisions on labor matters, car design matters and supply chain matters, is pulling him away from the company at a critical time. Tesla shares have lost half their value since early April, when it revealed it would buy Twitter.

Responding to a remark that many corporate leaders in Asia want to be ” the Elon Musk of the East “, Musk replied:

Be careful what you wish for. I’m not sure how many really wish they were in my position. They want to become what they imagine I am, which is not the same thing as who I really am. How much I’m hurting myself has gotten out of hand, honestly.

Commenting on the economy, he emphasized that the transition to renewable energies is the only thing certain, the only issue is ” how long ” this transition will last. He also said that space exploration remains a priority, ” so that we can understand the nature of the universe and our place in it .”

We might find an alien civilization or discover civilizations that existed millions of years ago and see their ruins. I think that would be extremely interesting.
