The Walking Dead: “Negan” didn’t think it would be until today in the series

He wouldn’t sit for 90+ episodes

Jeffrey Dean Morgan revealed how long ” Negan ” would normally stay on AMC ‘s The Walking Dead series . The famous actor may have played in more than 90 episodes, but as he says, things were not like that from the beginning.

In particular, during The Walking Dead panel at New York Comic Con , the actor stated that he was participating in the series for 3 years . As he says, he had signed on for Seasons 7,8 and 9.

His statements were as follows:

I think it was originally going to be three years. I believe that was the plan. I had a conversation with Scott Gimple (showrunner) and he told me that if you want to be on the show, it has to be for at least three years. I was also in the phase: Ah, it seems like a long time.

Little did I know that 8 years later we would still be here. These years passed very quickly. I can’t believe we’re here celebrating the end of this show as we know it. It is incredible. So much has happened over the years.

Let’s remind you somewhere here, that since shooting the scene in season 6 , Morgan has had more episodes of The Walking Dead under his belt than in any other series he has appeared. In case you don’t know, he’s also been seen on other hit shows like Supernatural , Magic City , Grey’s Anatomy , Extant , and The Good Wife .

For the record, “Negan” will continue to be in The Walking Dead universe, with the upcoming show, The Walking Dead: Dead City , which will consist of 6 episodes, will premiere in 2023 and will play alongside Maggie, played by Lauren Cohan .

According to the information we know so far, Dead City: “The offshoots of the popular characters Maggie and Negan travel to a post-apocalyptic Manhattan that has been cut off from the mainland. The ravaged city is filled with the dead and residents who have New York their own world full of anarchy, danger, beauty and horror .”
