With the Nvidia GeForce RTX 4090 on store shelves since October 12th, it’s now the RTX 4080 ‘s turn, which is expected to debut in November. So, the company’s brand new graphics card has now started appearing in various overseas chains.

The Greek price of the RTX 4080
At this point it is worth mentioning that the suggested retail price of the GPU for America is $1,199. However, if we convert the English prices into euros and take into account the value added tax (VAT 24%) applicable in Greece, the price of the RTX 4080 in our country may exceed 1,600 euros! As was the case with the RTX 4090, the difference compared to the US is expected to be large. For example, at the moment in Greece one needs to spend over 2,200 euros to get Nvidia’s flagship.
RTX 4080 specs
In case you want a refresher, the RTX 4080 is expected to be two to four times faster than the RTX 3080 Ti, according to Nvidia. The card will come with 16GB of GDDR6X memory, 9,728 CUDA Cores, base clock at 2.21GHz with boost up to 2.51GHz, 780 Tensor-TFLOPs, 113 RT-TFLOPs and 49 Shader-TFLOPs.
Regarding consumption, the official TBP is 320W, with the company recommending a power supply of at least 750 watts.
The canceled RTX 4080 12GB model
No, your memory is not deceiving you. Indeed, Nvidia had initially announced that two different versions of the RTX 4080 would arrive on the market, the first with 12GB GDDR6X and the other with 16GB. In the end, the company decided to cancel the debut of the smaller model, since in addition to the difference in memory, the rest of the specs were different, with the performance being obviously inferior. For this reason, Nvidia concluded that the differences would confuse consumers and canceled the debut of the 12GB model.
