Twitter: Mass resignations after Elon Musk’s ultimatum
His offices were closed
A new crisis has erupted on Twitter as there is a wave of mass resignations following Elon Musk’s ultimatum . In particular, the tycoon called on employees to prepare for an ” extremely harsh ” Twitter 2.0 or leave the company.
Hours after the deadline for employees to click “Yes” on a Google form asking them to accept longer hours at higher rates, a large number of employees rejected Elon Musk’s vision.
The exact number remains unknown, but New York Times reports say ” hundreds ,” while other media say many more. Note that the resignations come a period after Musk’s layoffs, which had already reduced the workforce by 50%.
On Twitter, many of the employees who had escaped the first wave of layoffs left their farewell messages.
As a result of the mass resignations, Twitter closed its offices until November 21, but did not officially state the reason for this decision.

Estimates speak of only 2,000 employees who will remain. If that number is true, it’s just 1/4 of Twitter’s workforce of 7,500 before Elon Musk took over.
