iPhone: The new features coming to iOS 16 later this year

iCloud Shared Photo Library and more

iOS 16 may have been released a few weeks ago on iPhones , but that doesn’t mean you’ve already seen all of its features. And this is because Apple intends to enrich its upgraded operating system with new features. So, in this article you will find all the new features that have been officially announced and will be available by the end of 2022.

iCloud Shared Photo Library – This new feature will allow you to share your photos, with your own faces, very easily and quickly, while at the same time you will be able to edit the content, even delete it from the list. Apart from you, you will be able to add up to 5 people in total.

Live Activities from third-party applications – Through live activities you will be able to see live from the iPhone lock screen the score from the sports games or even your order.

Emergency SOS via Satellite – Emergency SOS via Satellite is designed to allow iPhone 14 models to connect directly to a satellite, allowing users to send messages to emergency services when out of cellular and Wi-Fi coverage. For now it will only be available in Canada and the US.

Apple Music Classical – In August 2021, Apple acquired the “Primephonic” service and thus intends to enrich Apple Music with classical music and other additional content.

“Green Charging” – Charging iPhones will be optimized to account for when the grid uses more renewable energy to reduce iPhones’ carbon footprint. The new feature will work in addition to Optimized Battery Charging which understands your iPhone’s daily usage patterns and limits charging to 80% until it’s time to start using it again to fully charge it.

New Battery Percentage – Apple has heard user complaints and with iOS 16.1 will bring battery percentage to more iPhones with notch and FaceID.

Freeform – Apple says it will release a new digital whiteboard app called Freeform for iPhone and iPad in 2022. The app is described as a “flexible canvas” that will give users the “ability to view, share and collaborate on one place, without worrying about page layouts and sizes.”
