Cyberpunk 2077: The Revival Continues – Beats Witcher 3’s Record
Impressive new milestone
As we informed you , at the end of last week CD Projekt RED was quick to thank the community, as Cyberpunk 2077 had more than one million players daily.
The action RPG from the Polish company has managed to attract attention after the premiere of Cyberpunk: Edgerunners on Netflix , which seems to have helped significantly, with many becoming aware of the franchise for the first time and others deciding that it is time to return. . This revival continued over the weekend , even reaching a new milestone .
In particular, Cyberpunk 2077 on Sunday managed to attract over 136,724 concurrent players , on Steam alone. The remarkable thing is that this number is higher than the all-time record of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt , which three years ago had managed to reach 103,329 simultaneous players. In fact, Cyberpunk ended the week as the best-selling game on Steam , climbing 38 places!
For the record, when the game first launched in December 2020, the maximum number of concurrent players it had reached was 1,054,388. Obviously the current statistics are quite far from this colossal number, but still the recovery of the game is admirable, since despite the commercial success, the launch was accompanied by too many issues, culminating in the removal of the title from the PlayStation Store and returns money to players.
Now the disastrous lauch is a thing of the past and with the upcoming updates, the eyes of the community are on the big Phantom Liberty expansion pack.
