Twitter: The purge of inactive accounts is coming

In case you see your followers dropping…

The famous social network managed and owned by Elon Musk is preparing to purge inactive Twitter accounts .Twitter’s main concern is to free up billions of unused usernames. This move is expected to affect over 1.5 billion accounts.

However, some users have expressed concerns about the purge, especially those who want to keep the tweets of inactive accounts. For example, John Carmack, a well-known developer and co-founder of id Software, urged Musk to reconsider, saying that ” deleting the production of inactive accounts would be terrible . “

Musk responded by saying the accounts would be archived, but did not specify how or where they would be stored or accessed. It also did not say whether or not the accounts that would be cleared could be reactivated by their original owners.

Musk did not give a clear timeline for when the cleanup would begin or how long it would last. He only said it would happen “soon.”
