The first 3D visualization of the entire Titanic wreck has been completed (PICTURES+VIDEO)  

In unprecedented detail

A real feat was completed by the researchers of the Titanic wreck, as they managed for the first time to create a 3D digital image of the entire ship on the ocean floor, with unparalleled detail and clarity.

Using two remotely operated underwater vehicles, researchers spent six weeks mapping the entire wreck and its debris within 5 kilometers of it. The final result consists of 715,000 images, composing a complete and highly detailed 3D model. The researchers spent an additional 7 months compiling the huge amount of data they collected, and the documentary that will show us all this titanic effort will be released in 2024.

All of our conclusions about how it sank and many details are guesswork because there is no model to help us accurately reconstruct the wreck or accurately measure distances. I am excited because the quality of the model will help future generations to virtually walk on the Titanic. To see where the bridge was and so much more. – Anthony Geffen, Titanic researcher
