Apple: They are sending it to the courts for defrauding iPhone owners

iPhone collects data even if users choose not to

Apple is embroiled in a potentially damaging case as a lawsuit has been filed alleging it is deceiving iPhone users by collecting their personal data even when users choose not to.

The class-action lawsuit was filed in California federal court on Thursday after a special Gizmodo investigation revealed Apple’s shady dealings on the sensitive issue it has consistently advertised as keeping a close eye on.

Data collection even if you say ‘no’

Thanks to a report by Gizmodo, it was discovered that many apps on the iPhone send data to Apple, regardless of whether the privacy setting in iPhone Analytics is turned on or not. More specifically, the problem was identified by two independent researchers from the software company Mysk. They found that Apple’s App Store sends the company detailed information about almost everything a user does in the app, despite the privacy setting in iPhone Analytics, which it claims ” completely disables the sharing of Device Analytics ” when turned off.

Gizmodo asked the researchers to conduct additional tests on Apple’s other built-in iPhone apps, including Apple Music, Apple TV, Books, and Stocks. The researchers found that the problem still exists in most of them.

“The level of detail is shocking for a company like Apple,” Tommy Mysk told Gizmodo.

Mysk’s channel showed in an informative video how the App Store collects real-time information about your activity, such as what you click, what apps you search for, what ads you see, how you found a particular app and how long you spend looking at its page.

Apple’s bogus warranties

The lawsuit accuses Apple of violating California’s invasion of privacy law. ” Privacy is one of the main issues Apple uses to differentiate its products from its competitors, but Apple’s guarantees of privacy are completely bogus. The company has plastered billboards across the country with the slogan “Privacy. This is the iPhone, ” the plaintiff, Elliot Libman, said in the lawsuit, which is published by Bloomberg Law.

Also in the lawsuit it states: “Through its intrusive and illegal tracking and data collection activity, Apple learns about even the most personal and potentially embarrassing aspects of a user’s life through the use of its apps, regardless of whether the user accepts the fraudulent offer.” of Apple to keep these activities private.”

Apple has yet to make any official comment on this incident.
