Knock at the Cabin , the new “home invasion” horror film from ” Split ” and “6th Sense” director M. Night Shyamalan , topped the box office with $14.2 million in its opening weekend, enough to break even. the 7-week run of Avatar 2 . 

It totaled over $21.2 million at the worldwide box office, being an R-rated film that automatically limits the range of audiences it addresses.

It is far from the most successful opening for a Shyamalan film, whose last two films did not have the best box office harvest. However, her relatively low cost of $20 million dollars has already been covered to avoid the worst and she is now sailing in clear waters. 

Movie Synopsis: While vacationing in a remote cabin, a young girl and her parents are held hostage by four armed strangers who demand that the family make an unthinkable choice in order to prevent the apocalypse. With limited access to the outside world, the family must decide what they believe before all is lost.
